Owner + Founder of Chinook City Doulas
Following the birth of her oldest child in 1999, Lacey developed a passion for all things pregnancy, birth, and parenting related. Surrounded with knowledgeable support, Lacey found success and joy in her birth and parenting experience, even as a young mother.
As an aspiring doula, she attended her first birth as labor support at the High River General Hospital, in 2006.
Lacey credits her positive experiences with birth, breastfeeding, and parenting to the immense amount of support she has received. Recognizing a consistent need in her community for ongoing family support, led her to become a doula, educator and placenta specialist.
Lacey is a birth doula—trained with both DONA approved doula trainers and ProDoula, a ProDoula postpartum doula, a Childbirth Educator, Breastfeeding Educator, and a Certified Postpartum Placenta Specialist.
When Lacey is not supporting Calgary families through the ups and downs of becoming parents, she enjoys blogging, reading historical fiction, watching fantasy films, eating French macarons, and crocheting.

When Lacey heard I was in labour, knowing how far progressed I was she was on her way right away. She met us at the hospital and jumped right into action. I had a few people attend my birth and Lacey fit in really well. She catered to my needs and saw where she was needed in the situation. It was a bit challenging because we didn’t specifically outline where exactly we’d need her. I was really impressed. She was a great calming presence, bringing me cold clothes and essential oils and helping me into different positions for contractions.Shannon
I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Lacey. I got my placenta en-capsuled and was a little hesitant about her doing it in my house at first. The thought of being a first time mom and having someone here so soon after the baby was a bit intimidating. Lacey went above and beyond to make me comfortable. From the moment I called her to inform her of the birth of my lovely Luke she was amazing. She told me to go home and relax. She came over and left my kitchen even cleaner than she found it! She was calming and answered any questions I had regarding the placenta and my new baby boy. I would highly recommend using Lacey!! Thank you for a wonderful experience!Vivian
Thank you so much for coming to our home tonight to reassure us that we will indeed be wonderful grandparents in today’s age. You provided us with insight into watching for postpartum depression, vaccines for grandparents, household help lists that our daughter can generate, warnings of hand washing and perhaps no kissing, and when to not post on FB. I’ll be prepared for 6 to 8 explosive poops a day, and remember the vaseline and cornstarch and coconut oil. Most importantly, we all know that this is a special time for all of us and we are looking so forward to meeting our new addition.Thank you again. Your sweet, assured, relaxed composure will abide with me.Cheryl
