Owner + Founder of Chinook City Doulas
Following the birth of her oldest child in 1999, Lacey developed a passion for all things pregnancy, birth, and parenting related. Surrounded with knowledgeable support, Lacey found success and joy in her birth and parenting experience, even as a young mother.
As an aspiring doula, she attended her first birth as labor support at the High River General Hospital, in 2006.
Lacey credits her positive experiences with birth, breastfeeding, and parenting to the immense amount of support she has received. Recognizing a consistent need in her community for ongoing family support, led her to become a doula, educator and placenta specialist.
Lacey is a birth doula—trained with both DONA approved doula trainers and ProDoula, a ProDoula postpartum doula, a Childbirth Educator, Breastfeeding Educator, and a Certified Postpartum Placenta Specialist.
When Lacey is not supporting Calgary families through the ups and downs of becoming parents, she enjoys blogging, reading historical fiction, watching fantasy films, eating French macarons, and crocheting.

When Lacey heard I was in labour, knowing how far progressed I was she was on her way right away. She met us at the hospital and jumped right into action. I had a few people attend my birth and Lacey fit in really well. She catered to my needs and saw where she was needed in the situation. It was a bit challenging because we didn’t specifically outline where exactly we’d need her. I was really impressed. She was a great calming presence, bringing me cold clothes and essential oils and helping me into different positions for contractions.Shannon
I was induced a month early unexpectedly and Lacey got back to us right away and offered to help in any way possible. She came to the hospital and stayed well past the hours we thought she would. She was with us all day and stayed until after my cesarean. She also offered to come and help while our son was in the NICU. She very much exceeded our expectations in every way!Sydney
I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Lacey. I got my placenta en-capsuled and was a little hesitant about her doing it in my house at first. The thought of being a first time mom and having someone here so soon after the baby was a bit intimidating. Lacey went above and beyond to make me comfortable. From the moment I called her to inform her of the birth of my lovely Luke she was amazing. She told me to go home and relax. She came over and left my kitchen even cleaner than she found it! She was calming and answered any questions I had regarding the placenta and my new baby boy. I would highly recommend using Lacey!! Thank you for a wonderful experience!Vivian
Lacey was amazing to have over! Her extra hands were just the help I needed while I tended to other things in my home. I felt at ease knowing Lacey was there to watch my little girl. Not only was she hands on but I could truly feel the love she put into her work and the joy she got from assisting me in the care of my daughter for the afternoon. Forever appreciative. Really enjoyed the time to be a human and highly recommend her and Chinook City Doulas!Brittany
Lacey was available by phone, email, and text whenever anything came up. She always had an answer to my questions and was able to point me in the right direction when I needed it. We also did prenatal classes with her and that helped prepare myself and husband for labor and delivery as this was our first baby. She helped me understand my contractions. She came to the hospital right away. When we were sent home because I wasn’t progressing enough she came home with us and helped me while I was at home. Her breathing techniques were very helpful when the pain was unbearable. She helped me with pushing by counting and cheering me on. The cheering was the most helpful part of the delivery.
I would highly recommend Lacey. I got my placenta encapsulated by her and I love the fact that she came over to our house. Her work was extremely professional and clean. My kitchen was spotless when she left. We were able to ask questions and take pictures throughout the process my husband really liked that! The fact that my placenta didn’t leave my sight make me feel in total confidence.
